BAJAUR AGENCY At least two persons were killed and two others got injured due to a remote-controlled blast here at Malangi area, about 30 kilometres northwest of Khar, of tehsil Mamond on Sunday afternoon. All of these people were on their way to mosque for Zohar prayer when the incident occurred. The injured were shifted to Lady Reading Hospital, Peshawar. The security forces soon after the blast cordoned off the area and started investigation. So far no one has claimed the responsibility for the attack. The deceased were identified as Haji Rahmatullah and Khan Wali, while the injured included Abdul Wadood and Abdul Ahad. It may be mentioned here that Mamond has been one of the strongholds of militants for the last few years. AFP adds: A bomb blast outside a mosque in tribal district of Bajaur killed two anti-Taliban tribal elders and wounded two others, police and intelligence officials said. Two tribesmen were killed and two were injured in the blast. The bomb was planted outside a mosque, Fazal Rabbi, deputy chief of tribal police in Bajaur, told AFP by telephone. An intelligence official in the area confirmed the incident and said that both the tribesmen were respected elders who spoke out against the Taliban.
