Brilliant Hashim blows HSBC to win in final

LAHORE HSBC Bank had a plain sailing in the title battle of the Nurpur Cup at the Lahore Polo Club here on Sunday. This indeed was Hashim Kamal Aghas day who led the scoring spree with a swashbuckling nine goals in his sides 11-4 victory against Remington Pharma. The match opened with a 30-yader from veteran Atif Tiwana followed by a couple from Hashim Kamal Agha one of which was a beautiful under-the-neck shot executed to perfection. HSBC Bank hit another three goals in the second chukker - all the three coming off the mallet of Hashim - and was lone goal from Usman Haye, who incidentally hit it off solo effort. With 6-2 down, it was uphill battle for Remington Pharma already and perhaps they tried to put in extra effort. Faisa and Nawaz one goal apiece for Remington Pharma lifted their spirits a bit but they needed epic effort. In the meantime, a foul gave HSBC an undefended 30 yarder and they extended their lead t0 7-4. The four-goal fourth chukker saw a surprise attack from Hashim who hit three field goals with one from Atif Tiwana taking the tally to 11 goals. Remington failed to offer any resistance to HSBC in the fourth chukker. The match was officiated by Shah Qublai Alam and Shah Shamyl Alam. Earlier in the subsidiary final, Guard Group defeated Magoon Industries 6-4 with Taimur Mawaz Khan hitting four goals. Taimur Ali Malik hit two goals.
