LAHORE – Punjab Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif on Thursday said that the coalition government had paid no attention to the welfare and betterment of the masses during the last 4.5 years.

The CM said this while talking to Assembly Members from various districts. The CM said that during the tenure of Zar Baba and Forty Thieves no progress had been made in any sector except for corruption. He said that the PML-N tried to prick the conscience of the rulers at a number of times for the stability of democracy and democratic institutions but they were so engrossed in corruption that they never mended their ways and even ignored the orders of the superior judiciary in this regard. He said that the recent report of Transparency International had exposed the bad governance and corruption of PPP and its allies.

The CM said that people had expressed complete confidence in PML-N in the by-elections and they will smash the idols of corruption in the forthcoming general elections.

 He said that inefficient and dishonest federal rulers had pushed the country to the verge of disaster and Zar Baba Forty Thieves should now be ready for their logical end. He said that masses will not allow Zar Baba Forty Thieves to escape the elections and PML-N will build a new Pakistan after coming into power.

He said President PML-N Mian Nawaz Sharif was the most popular political leader of the country due to his politics of principles. He said that the masses would repose their complete confidence in PML-N in the up coming elections.

Separately presiding over a meeting over professional wing of PML-N, he stressed the role of women, saying that more than half of the population consists of women who are playing their active role in education, health, engineering, banking and other sectors.

General Secretary PML-N Punjab Raja Ashfaq Sawar, Muslim League leader Kamal Ahmed and professional women associated with various sectors attended the meeting. Mehwish Malik and Saira Iftikhar gave briefing regarding professional wing.
