Islamabad - Good results are not interpreted in terms of excellent facilities, as a girls degree college situated in rural area of Islamabad with only 10 regular and 20 daily-wage teachers and poor infrastructural facilities stood first in the BA part-1 examination of Quaid-e-Azam University.

Quaid-i-Azam University declared the BA part-1 annual results of 13 affiliated colleges of Islamabad on Friday. As many as 705 students out of 1,946 remained successful. Thus, the pass percentage remained 36.2.

Students of Humak Girls College have excelled by producing an excellent passing rate. This college stood first with the highest pass percentage of 57.7. Islamabad Model Postgraduate College, F-7/2, and Islamabad Model College for Girls, F-6/2, stood second and third respectively with the pass percentage of 45.7 and 42.9.

Professor Nusrat Zia, principal of Humak College, was very delighted with the results. “Our results are wonderful. This is the indication of hard work of students and the inspiring teaching of this college. We have managed to achieve good results by arranging extra classes, particularly in the subject of English. It is a great honour that the Humak College stood at number one position in the annual examination of BA part-1 2014. We are very proud of the performance of the students,” she said.

The pass percentage of other colleges remained as follows: Islamabad College for Girls (ICG), F-6, 41.9%; Islamabad Model College for Girls, F-7/4, 35.5%; Islamabad Model College for Girls, I-8/3, 32.3%; Islamabad Model College for Girls, F-10/2, 32%; Islamabad Model Postgraduate College for Girls, F-7/4, (31.9%; Islamabad Model Postgraduate College, H-8, 27.4%; Islamabad Model Postgraduate College for Girls, G-10/4, 24.9%; Islamabad College for Boys, G-6/3, 17.6%; Islamabad Model College for Boys, H-9, 17.4%; and Islamabad Model College for Boys, F-10/4, 16.1%.
