ISLAMABAD: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Monday handed over three suspects in Imran Farooq murder case to the FIA on a seven-day physical remand. The three suspects, Moazzam Ali, Khalid Shamim and Mohsin Ali were produced before the ATC Islamabad under Rangers security. The ATC judge took up the case for hearing in an in-camera proceeding as no unauthorized persons were allowed to enter the court room. The FIA sought 10 days physical remand for investigation of the suspects. The counsel for Moazzam Ali and Khalid Shamim opposed the 10-day physical remand. He requested the court to allow family members of his client Moazzam Ali to meet him.
“This is legal right of my client,” he said. The counsel for FIA argued that the family members of Moazzam Ali should be brought to headquarters and their meeting will be arranged there. A meeting between Moazzam Ali with his son was arranged on his return from the court. The court remanded the three suspects to the FIA custody for seven days after hearing arguments from both sides. The court also ordered that the three accused should be presented before it on December 14.
