Kandhkot - Sindh Government and Pakistan Army joined hands to organise a seminar here at Govt Degree College on Tuesday to create awareness about the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). Students and teachers, in their speeches, highlighted the importance of CPEC projects. “Pak-China friendship is higher than mountains and deeper than oceans,” they said.

The expressed the hope that after completion of CPEC projects, poverty will reduce, and resultantly fate of Pakistan would change. Advocates, social activists and journalists also participated in the seminar.

Syed Bashir Ahmed Shah, former Zakat chairman, was the chief guest on the occasion, while Ashraf Khan Bijarani and Mir Malguzar Khan Suhriyani were the guests of honour. The programme was presided over by Syed Ayaz Ali Shah, Govt Degree College Principal.

In the debate competition, student Rizwan Mohammad got the first prize whereas Arab Sabzoi came second and Nadir Bangwar clinched the third position.

Professor Abdur Rahman Malik gave a detailed presentation on the benefits of CPEC for Sindh and other provinces in English whereas Professor Shabbir Ahmed Bahalkani and Professor Mohammad Yousuf Bhutto briefed the participants about CPEC in Urdu.

Officers of Pakistan Army also attended the seminar, and appreciated the students and professors for delivering knowledgeable and informative speeches.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by the principal. In the end, refreshments were served to the participants. People from all walks of life were happy to have a detailed briefing on CPEC, saying the speeches further enhanced their information.
