Five-member dacoit gang busted

KASUR/SHEIKHUPURA-The police claimed to have busted a five-member gang wanted in more than 12 cases of robbery and illegal weapons like heinous crime here the other day.
The police also recovered looted money and illegal arms from their possession.
According to police, DPO Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi constituted a special team under the supervision of DSP (Saddr) Mirza Arif Rasheed for the arrest of the gang. The team, headed by SHO Muhammad Younus, arrested the gang members - Irfan alias Fani (ring-leader), Asif, Afzal, Rizwan and Irfan Maseeh. The police also recovered four pistols, revolvers, four cellphones and Rs300,000 of cash.
During interrogation, the accused confessed to have been involved in various dacoity and theft incidents. Further investigations are underway.
On the other hand, the team members are likely to be awarded cash prizes and commendatory certificates.
24 OUTLAWS NICKED
The Muridke Police claimed to have arrested 24 outlaws including four proclaimed offenders in operations conducted here the other day.
The police also recovered huge amount of contrabands, a car, motorcycle and illegal weapons from their possession.
According to police, a vigorous crackdown was launched on outlaws in different areas of the district. During the operation, the police arrested 24 outlaws including four POs recovered 8kg of hashish, a motorcycle, one car and illegal weapons from their possession. Among the POs, three have been identified as - Jamil, Boota and Dildar. Further investigations are underway.
