GUJRAT- There is no dearth of talent in Pakistan whose progress heavily hinges on it’s the youth’s making practical use of their intellectual and innovative capabilities, a renowned banker and financial expert said.
Speaking at Hafiz Hayat Campus of the University of Gujrat (UoG), Faiq Sadiq said that Pakistan’s long-term development goals can be achieved by engaging and training the youth in entrepreneurship and self-business programmes.
Faiq Sadiq, the chief internal auditor of Habib Bank Ltd, was received upon his arrival at the UoG by Consultant Business Incubation Centre (BIC) Muhammad Haider Meraj and his team of young entrepreneurs.
He appraised the various projects of BIC teams and gave them valuable tips. He advised the students to focus on their studies and contribute to the country’s progress.
“We need to adopt innovative approaches in research to prop up the country’s trade and industry so that it could compete with those of the developed nations. Development of innovative strategies is the backbone of industry. We also need to promote the culture of discussion and dialogue which is so vital for the progress.”
He stressed searching indigenous solution to various problems facing the local industry. Haider Meraj said, “BIC of the UoG is an important platform for the generation and implementation of innovative business ideas. Promotion of patriotism among the youth is the need of the hour.”
Faculty of Management and Administrative Sciences Chairperson Dr Ghulam Ali Bhatti in his vote of thanks said, “The younger generation is an all-important human capital of Pakistan. Our teachers must help them build awareness about the importance as well as practical implementation of knowledge and skills.”
