Govt focusing on kids’ character-building

Mashhood opens 18th children fair

FAISALABAD-Punjab Minister for Education Rana Mashhood Ahmad has said that the government was focusing on the character-building of students and creating their awareness of different social issues.
He inaugurated 18th children fair against dengue at Jawad Club under the arrangements of All Pakistan Schools Alliance. He said that the Punjab govt had focused its attention on the promotion and strengthening of the education sector and private sector was also playing its pivotal role to impart the children with quality education.
He said that the govt was giving very much importance to the private schools as they were sharing the burden of govt schools for the promotion of knowledge. He appreciated the step of holding of Annual Children Fair consecutively. He said that such fairs were not only a source of entertainment for the children but also created awareness about different social issues for their redressal. He emphasised upon continuing the extracurricular and curriculur activities for shining the qualities of students and creating the self confidence.
He said that the problems confronted by the private schools would be solved by the govt to provide them with more conducive environment.
Earlier, in his welcome address, All Pakistan Schools Alliance Chairman Sadaqat Hussain Lodhi thanked the minister for participating in Children Fair. He said that his participation was encouragement for the private schools, parents and children.
He highlighted some issues of the private schools and reaffirmed his commitment that the private schools would extend cooperation to the govt in promotion of education and participating in different govt campaigns for the relief of the public.
During the function, different schools presented tableaus, skits, national songs and other programmes. Swings, musical programme, magic show, camel dance, goat dance and other colourful events were arranged by the organisers. The Livestock Department arranged zoo, exhibition of various beautiful animals & birds and cooking competition in the children fair and awarded prizes to the winners.
TALENT COMPETITION: The University of Agriculture Faisalabad arranged All Pakistan Veterinary Degree Awarding Institutes’ talent competition in which Qirat, Naat, Urdu speeches, dramatics, and other contests were held.
The concluding session arranged by Faculty of Veterinary Sciences (FVS) was chaired by UAF Vice Chancellor Dr Muhammad Iqbal Zafar. Dean FVS Dr Ahrar Ahmad, Dr Zafar Iqbal Randhawa, Dean Agriculture Dr Amjad, Dean Food Sciences Dr Masood Sadiq Butt, Dean Animal Husbandry Dr Sajjad Khan, Dr Talib Sahi, Dr Sajjadur Rehman, Dr Misbah Ijaz, Dr Faqeer Muhammad, CEO Mukhtar Feed Muhammad Hussain and other notables attended the session.
In the Qirat contest, Abid Zeeshan from College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Jhang stood first while Hafiz Zainul Hassan from Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi got the second and Fateh Ullah from Gomal University DG Khan stood third.
In the Naat contest, Abu Bakar from Islamic University of Bahawalpur clinched the first position while Fozia from University of Pooch and Jamshed Ali from Gomal University got the second and third positions.
In Urdu speech contest, Umar Ali Khan from Islamia University Bahawalpur and Ghufran Ahmad from BZU got the second position. In the dramatic contest, Pooch University clinched the first position while Gomal University stood second. In the singing, Musadaq from IUB clinched the first position while M Haseeb from BZU got the second.
