Lahore police recovers huge quantity of dead animal meat

Lahore: Police recovered a huge quantity of meat of dead cattle which was to be supplied to butcher shops in the city.
According to details Nawan Kot police recovered 250 maunds (approximately 10,000 kilograms) meat of dead animals during an action taken in Shera Kot Bakar Mandi area of the city.

Three suspects were arrested by the police during the raid while the fourth managed to flee.

The police have sent the samples of the harmful meat to the forensic laboratory for testing. It has also contacted Punjab Food Authority to help destroy the meat.

According to sources, dead and sick cattle were slaughtered in Bakar Mandi and their harmful meat was later supplied in Lahore.
