The Supreme Court of Pakistan, upon appeal of Accountability Court for more time in order to wrap up the proceedings in Al-Azizia and Flagship investment reference case against former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, has given another respite till December 24, 2018.
According to sources, a two judge-bench headed by Chief Justice Saqib Nisar on Friday heard the plea of accountability court regarding another extension in the references against PML-N supremo, Nawaz Sharif.
SC has ordered AC to finish the trials over Nawaz Sharif before the deadline which is December 24, 2018. This respite is the eight one given to AC to complete the case.
It is pertinent to mention here that December 07, today, was the last day in the extension previously given by the Supreme Court to AC in references against former premier Nawaz Sharif.
Previously on November 19, SC granted three weeks to accountability court in order to wrap up the Al-Azizia reference case.
