Ahsan Younas appointed new IGP Islamabad

ISLAMABAD  -  The government on Monday has appointed Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Operations Lahore Muhammad Ahsan Younis as Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, informed sources. The serving IG Islamabad Qazi Jameel Ur Rehman, was removed from his post and has been ordered to report to Establishment Division, they added. According to sources, the Establishment Division of government of Pakistan has removed IGP Islamabad Qazi Jameel Ur Rehman and appointed DIG Operations Lahore Muhammad Ahsan Younas as new boss of capital city police.

A notification in this regard has also been issued by Arqam Tariq, Deputy Secretary to the government of Pakistan.

It may be noted that DIG Muhammad Ahsan Younas had served as City Police Officer (CPO) Rawalpindi for almost two years and performed well for rooting out crimes from the district.

Similarly, Qazi Jameel Ur Rehman was transferred by the Establishment Division from capital police after serving for one year.
