Justice Raza takes oath as acting CJP

Islamabad - Justice Sardar Muhammad Raza Khan, the senior most judge of the apex court after Chief Justice Abdul Hameed Dogar, took oath as Acting Chief Justice of Pakistan here Friday. Justice Raza will perform as Chief Justice of Pakistan in absence of Chief Justice Abdul Hameed Dogar who is presently in Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah. Justice Sardar Raza Khan took oath of his office in a ceremony held here at the apex court where Justice Mian Shakirullah Jan administered the oath to him. Judges of the Supreme Court, Chief Justice and judges of Islamabad High Court, judges of Lahore High Court (Rawalpindi Bench), Senator Dr Babar Awan Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, attorney general, federal law secretary, secretary Election Commission, and other prominent lawyers of the Supreme the Court, legal fraternity and other law officers of the government attended the ceremony. Raja Lehrasab Khan, Registrar Supreme Court, conducted the proceedings of the oath-taking. Officers and staff of the Supreme Court were also present at the occasion.
