Assembly adjourned in mourning

KARACHI - The Sindh Assembly on Saturday offered fateha for those who lost their lives in Fridays twin bomb blasts in Karachi and adjourned the session in mourning till Monday (today). However, the lawmakers from PPP, MQM, PML-F and PML-Q wearing black bands on arms reiterated their resolve to fight against the terrorism with unity till its logical end. The session was chaired by acting Speaker Shehla Raza and offered only fateha which finished within 37 minutes and did not take any other business. Sindh Law Minister Muhammed Ayaz Soomro requested the Acting Speaker to adjourn the session in mourning of the Fridays blast. He said that fateha be offered for all the departed souls as well as for the workers of MQM, who were among the martyrs. He also condemned the treatment meted out to the media persons by certain mischievous elements while they were performing their professional responsibilities. Soomro appealed to everyone to get united and thwart the conspiracies for the cause of people of Sindh. He praised the efforts of the Home Minister Dr Zulfiqar Mirza, saying that government has achieved lots of development as two terrorists were arrested from Moro city of Sindh. Disclosing the developments in Firdays twin blasts, he said that some people had been arrested in connection of Karachi blast incidents and joint investigation teams were inquiring them. Provincial Minister for Health and MQM leader Dr Sagheer Ahmed said that religious rituals were coming in near future, so operation must be launched till elimination of terrorists from the City. Number of Taliban have been arrested in City but no one know that what action were taken against them, he said. He demanded that exemplary punishment must be given to the Taliban and extremists who have launched unholy war against the innocent people of Pakistan. Sagheer further said he always pointing out in every cabinet meeting that hospitals of Karachi could be the second place of attack of terrorists, so there should be need to provide special security arrangements for hospitals. Our hospitals have no capacity to work beyond the normal, and during terrorism and war-like situation. He appealed to the CM Sindh to raise the skill building of hospitals. He also appealed the political parties to unite against the extremism and terrorists, saying that we should propagate the harmony through one voice. Opposition leader in Sindh Assembly Jam Madad said that all political parties were united and support the stance of government against terrorism and extremism, and appealed the public to remain calm on this sad occasion. MQMs Faisal Sabzwari said that there was more need of unity and consensus among all the sects of society. He said that MQM would go to the ANP, PML-Q and other all political parties for the sake of peace in the City. PPP minority member Saleem Khurshid Khokhar said that 6 people of minority community, belong to one family, have lost their lives. The House also observed two minutes silence for the martyred.
