ISLAMABAD Chanar Heroes Peshawar (CHP) moved into the final of the National Wheelchair Users Cricket Tournament by beating Bolan Tigers Mardan (BTM) by seven wickets in the first semi-final here at Pakistan Sports Complex on Saturday. The second semi-final will be played on Sunday (today) at same venue between Khyber Kings Multan (KKM) and Mehran Dolphin Lahore (MDL). The final will also be played on the same day at same place. Managing Director Batulmal, Zamurad Khan will grace the final as a chief guest. In the first semi-final, Peshawar stunned Mardan by seven wickets to reach the final of the two-day national tournament. Mardan scored 66 for 4 runs in their allotted six overs with the major contribution of Asadullah with 38 runs. Peshawar achieved their target on the penultimate over of the match by wasting just three wickets. Ayaz Khan played excellent innings for the winner by scoring vital 32 runs. Six teams all over the country took part in the competition including Ravi Challengers Karachi, Khyber Kings Multan, Mehran Dolphin Lahore, Gilgit Topper Muradkay, Chanar Heroes Peshawar and Bolan Tigers Mardan. An official of the organising committee told The Nation that the final would get underway at 2:00pm. Inspector General Police Islamabad Kaleem Amam will also be our guest at closing ceremony. We have to shift our venue from G-6 cricket ground to Pakistan Sports Complex due to overnight rain in the capital city, said Husnain Raza. Results of first round matches: Mardan beat Multan by 25 runs Lahore beat Peshawar by 10 wickets. Peshawar beat Karachi by 57 runs. Lahore beat Karachi by 8 wickets.
