Ours, not theirs

There is an unfortunate feeling that Karachi belongs to some of its residents rather more than others and it has developed because of a certain ethnic group that came to Pakistan and Karachi in the mid-1960s, or was born in 1980s. They boast of owning Karachi because they 'created it. Similarly, the PPP seems to convey the impression as if Pakistan was created by Z. A. Bhutto after he came into power. This psyche is largely responsible for what is happening in Karachi right now. All groups must feel and behave like Pakistanis first and anything else afterwards. -NOURRE ZEENATE JEHAN, Karachi, February 4.
