LAHORE - Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has said that the rulers lacked capacity to take the country out of prevailing crisis, as their vested interests demanded support of anti-Pakistan policies. Delivering a lecture at a private educational institution and addressing a public gathering at Tech Society here on Saturday, he said that the rulers were bent upon destroying the institutions only to save their wealth. Imran said that the US was carrying out drone attacks in the country with the consent of rulers. He said that unknown fear on the part of rulers was the biggest hurdle in putting the country on right path. Referring to Aafia Siddiqui issue, he said if such a thing happened in a civilised country, the entire nation would have come on roads. He praised the role of media for initiating a soft revolution in the country. He said the time was ripe for a change in the country. He urged women and youth to play due role for making Pakistan a truly sovereign state. He said Pakistan was the only Muslim country having a vibrant media and an independent judiciary established by the will of people. He criticised the Opposition for not safeguarding the rights of the people and playing a friendly role. He said leadership had to lead from the front but the rulers were demanding sacrifice from the nation. He said that PTI would come on roads if government failed to implement the court decision on NRO. Meanwhile, PTI Chief visited Abdul Qadir Hassans residence to condole the sad demise of his wife and brother. Omar Sarfraz Cheema, Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed, Murad Ross, Talath Naqvi, Nadeem Qadir Bhinder, Sohail Asif, Zohair Rana, Rana Nazar-ur-Rehman, Mian Khalid, Tahir Ashraf Bara, Abdul Karim Kalwar, Ishtiaq Malik and other leaders accompanied PTI Chief. Mukhtar calls on Shahbaz Federal Defence Minister Ahmad Mukhtar called on the Punjab Chief Minister, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif at Chief Ministers Secretariat, here Saturday. Various matters of mutual interest were discussed in the meeting. The CM informed the Federal Minister about the steps taken for the welfare of the people and development of the province.
