ISLAMABAD (APP) - President Asif Ali Zardari Saturday called for mobilising party cadres in Hazara so as to make the PPP the strongest political force in the region. The PPP Hazara deserves to be felicitated for putting up a tough fight in the recently held bye-elections in which the party distinctly improved its performance as its candidate secured far more votes in the bye election compared with votes secured in the last general election. We need to continue making political progress in Hazara by addressing the issues facing the people on the one hand and strengthening the party on the other, he added. The President expressed these views while talking to a delegation of NWFP cabinet members from Pakistan Peoples Party which called on him here at the Presidency Saturday evening. Matters regarding current political situation, coalition matters, law and order situation in NWFP, the status of developmental projects in the province and the Presidents forthcoming visit to NWFP came under discussion during the meeting. Those who attended the meeting included Rahimdad Khan, Senior Minister, Syed Zahir Ali Shah, Minister for Health, Mohammad Humayun Khan, Minister for Finance, Salim Khan, Minster for Population, Sher Azam Khan Wazir, Minister for Labour, Syed Ahmad Hassan Shah, Minister for Industries, Shuja Salim Khan, Minister for Housing, Parvez Khattak, Minister for Irrigation and Nawab Mehmood Zaib Khan, Minister for Minerals.Senator Sardar Ali Khan and Ms Rukhsana Bangash, MNA were also present during the meeting. Referring to the vision of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto and the partys manifesto the President said, the PPP believes in pursuing the agenda of women emancipation and would continue to empower them in socio-political and economic fields. The President said that all announcements of development schemes made for Hazara would be implemented and added that in addition a special development package would also be announced for Hazara Division.
