LAHORE – The Lahore High Court on Monday summoned Secretary Regulation Wing of Punjab government on contempt petition filed by Assistant District Public Prosecutors.

Rahat Majeed and 5 others submitted that their cases for regularization of services were sent to Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) on the court orders. They contended that PPSC had now raised mere objections just to delay their cases while their pending salaries had not been paid so far.

The provincial law officer submitted a report prepared by secretary regulation wing and said the Punjab government had constituted a high profile committee to solve the cases of ADPPs because their cases could not be sent to PPSC.

At this, the court observed that the secretary had tried to frustrate the court’s earlier orders. After arguments, Justice Muhammad Khalid Mahmood Khan directed the secretary to appear before the court on Feb 08 (tomorrow).

The same court on Monday again ordered to issue press advertisement to summon PPP Senator Babar Awan on contempt of court petition against him.
