ISLAMABAD - Shifa International Hospital cricket team beat Ericsson Cricket XI Islamabad by 48 runs in a friendly cricket match played here at Diamond Cricket Ground on Friday. Shifa, batting first, scored 238 for the loss of five wickets in the allotted 30 overs. Thanks mainly to Faisal Iqbal for his stylish unbeaten 80 runs with the help of 10 boundaries and 2 sixes, while Alamgir Khan contributed unbeaten 61 hitting 10 boundaries and Shahbaz Qureshi added 37. Ali Mubashir took 2-19, while Arif and Amir got a wicket apiece. In reply, Ericsson XI were bowled out for 190 runs in the 29th over. Iqbal made 39, Amir 28 and Ali Mubashir unbeaten 22. Salman Khan Kundi grabbed 3-22, Iftikhar Mehmood 3-25 and Tahir Akhtar 2-37. Faisal Iqbal was named player of the match.
