MUZAFFARGARH: Muzaffargarh police have submitted a request to the speaker of National Assembly to order the arrest of MNA Jamshed Dasti who was wanted by police in various cases of murder, extortion, and attack on government employees. DPO Awais Ahmed said that the district police had decided to take the legal way against the elected representative. He said that oil tankers owners have lodged a complaint of extortion against Jamshed Dasti and his comrades and asked for legal action against them.

Meanwhile, Dasti has launched a vilification campaign against police officials. Muzaffargarh Police registered another case against Jamshed and his 40/50 supporters on the complaint of Tehsil Municipal Officer (TMO) for attacking an anti-encroachment team. The case was registered under sections 353,186,148,149 PPC and MPO-16.

When contacted, Dasti alleged that the DPO was a drug addict and he would go to court for his medical examination. He further said that he was launching a vigorous campaign against the coal-power project in Muzaffargarh which has already polluted the area due to five thermal power stations and one oil-refinery.

He vowed that he would not bow down before the Government and would continue his struggle with the support of his voters and supporters.–Staff Reporter
