SIALKOT-Hundreds of locals, a majority of them PTI activists, marched towards border villages here and made chain of human hands at Sucheetgarh Sector along Sialkot Working Boundary to express solidarity with the oppressed Kashmiri brethren, braving Indian brutalities the Occupied Kashmir.
PTI leader Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan led the rally and chain of human hands there.
On the occasion, she strongly condemned the ongoing mounting atrocities and larger scale human rights violations, genocide and custodial killings of the innocent Kashmiri people by the occupied Indian Army in Jammu and Kashmir.
She also expressed solidarity with the oppressed Kashmiri people.
Firdous Ashiq Awan said that the sacrifices of hundreds of thousands of Kashmiris would bear fruit as the sun of freedom of would soon dawn in Held Kashmir.
She urged the Pakistan government to raise the burning Kashmir issue more effectively at all international forums. She urged the world to take serious notice of the unbridled atrocities and barbarism unleashed on unarmed Kashmiris by Indian army.
She also urged international community to globally pressurise India for early peaceful solution to the longstanding Kashmir dispute in accordance with the UN resolutions.
She said that self-determination and plebiscite are the basic right of the Kashmir people. "India must read the writing on the wall that she cannot subjugate brave Kashmiris with brute force for long," the PTI leader declared.
She said that Pakistan stand shoulder to shoulder with their Kashmiri brethren in their just struggle for freedom from Indian yoke.
NEED FOR PROMOTION OF KNOWLEDGE-BASED EDUCATION STRESSED
Chairperson Sialkot District Council Hina Arshad Warraich stressed the need for promotion of knowledge-based education and personality building of the students.
Addressing the participants of annual prize distribution ceremony of a local private school at Uggoki here, she said that the PML-N government is spreading the light of knowledge and education across the country. She claimed the government taking special measures to ensure easy access of everyone to quality education.
The DC chairperson pointed out that no country could ever make progress without the promotion of quality education.
She highly hailed the role of teachers, saying that the good and dutiful teachers are precious asset to the society, terming the teachers masons for educated nation. She said the students are future of the country and the government is utilizing all-out resources to make them true future architects. Later, she distributed prizes to brilliant students.
