LAHORE - Pakistan off spinner Saeed Ajmal says he's working on a secret delivery to surprise English batsmen in this month's Test series against England in United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Ajmal, who was the most successful bowler in 2011with 50 wickets in eight Tests and grabbed top spot at ICC ODI bowlers ranking, often surprises batsmen with his doosra, a ball that drifts away from a right-handed batsmen. Ajmal wouldn't reveal his newly-developed delivery, but said on Friday while talking to reporters: "It's not far, you will know it."

Ajmal seems to have been experimenting with his delivery for most of the last year. He said in August that he had a ‘top secret’ delivery but refused to bowl it in the series against Zimbabwe, revealing that the ball was intended for England.

The three-Test series begins in Dubai, United Arab Emirates on January 17, and Ajmal hopes the pitch will suit spinners. He grabbed eight Sri Lanka wickets in a Test at the same venue in October 2010. The off spinner has not targeted any specific batsmen but has been watching videos of the Englishmen. "We have special plans and are working on that."

Pakistan team top order batsman Azhar Ali said that he had no target except performing well and help the team to victory against England. “I will try to play big innings during the England series and score maximum runs and I am working and training hard and hoping for the best.”

To a query regarding pitches of UAE, Azhar replied: “The pitches do not matter a lot if the player is mentally strong enough to play a good innings. We are just aiming high and will deliver our best for the team’s victory.”

Lauding the efforts of the Pakistan cricket Board (PCB) to honour the national team, Azhar said that it was a very encouraging step of the board officials which would surely boost the team’s morale.

“The PCB chairman is doing very well for the national team and if such encouraging steps will be continued, the team will also carry on performing and try to win more laurels for the country.”

“All the England bowlers are good and bowl very well so I am working against the entire English bowlers not against a single one. Our coaches and trainer are also working hard in this regard and we are very hopeful for winning against England,” Azhar concluded.
