Plan of 20 model roads approved




LAHORE – Commissioner Lahore Division Jawad Rafiq Malik has approved plan of 20 proposed model roads of the city, submitted by the officers of different departments and ordered to complete ongoing work till the 10th of February.
He was presiding over a meeting of engineers and other officers of different departments, held here on Friday. The officers told the Commissioner that Rs 330 million would be spent on City District Governments’ controlled roads while Rs 450 million would be spent on TEPA controlled roads for making them model roads. They told that public friendly plan has been prepared in order to make smooth flow of traffic for public convenience.
The commissioner, for completing construction work within given time frame, formed a committee, headed by Additional Director Security Col. ® Younas Barola which would ensure timely construction and would submit report on daily basis. The meeting was attended by DCO Ahad Cheema, CTO Sayed Ahmad Mubeen, Chief Engineer LDA Israr Saeed, Chief Engineer PHA and Chief Engineer C&W Munawar Bashir and Project Director Sabir Khan.
Meanwhile District Coordination Officer Ahad Khan Cheema has ordered that no NGO will be allowed to set up camps on the way of Zul Jinnah on the occasion of Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussan and Urs Data Ganj Bakhsh. Only mobile teams of Health Department will be allowed to set up camps.
Addressing a meeting held here on Friday in order to to review the arrangements regarding Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain and Urs of Data Ganj Bukhsh, he ordered to ensure presence of responsible persons at sabeels of milk and avoid parking on the way of procession as well.
