LAHORE - Indian High Commissioner TCA Raghwan called on Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif here on Monday and discussed matters of mutual interest and bilateral relations between India and Pakistan.
Talking to the Indian High Commissioner, Shahbaz Sharif said that Pakistan was a peace-loving country and wanted good neighborly relations with India . He stressed the need for resolving Kashmir, water and other issues through a meaningful dialogue. The chief minister said that wars had given nothing except poverty, hunger and destruction and the two countries should now spend maximum resources for the progress, prosperity and welfare of their people.
Agencies add: Mumtaz Bibi, widow of Habib Jalib on Monday passed away due to cardiac arrest in Lahore.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif have condoled over the death of renowned poet’s wife. They prayed Almighty Allah to rest her soul in eternal peace and give courage and fortitude to the bereaved family to bear the loss.
The prime minister said Mumtaz Bibi supported her husband in his struggle for democracy and her services were worth-appreciation.
Meanwhile, Former President Asif Ali Zardari has also offered condolences to the family of Habib Jalib over the death of the wife of the renowned poet.
