IHCBA opposes military courts

Islamabad - The Islamabad High Court Bar Association (IHCBA) has opposed setting up of military courts, saying establishment of special military courts will lead to usurp the rights of people. Talking to Online President IHCBA Mohsin Akhtar Kiani said bar association condemns the bill presented in the parliament with regard to establishment of military courts. He warned if the government accords approval for establishment of military courts then lawyers will announce their strategy and launch a protest movement.
The government has expressed mistrust in existing judicial system in the country by presenting bill on establishment of military courts in the parliament.
Inviting military leadership and ISI in All Parties Conference (APC) is tantamount to impose martial law in the country, he underlined. Not only the rights of people are being encroached upon but also all the political parties have become facilitators to army by compromising on the rights of the citizens, he regretted.
The government itself has invited the army to interfere in the politics, he alleged. Therefore, legal fraternity calls upon the government to repose trust on judicial system of the country, he stressed.
