rawalpindi - City Police Officer (CPO) Israr Ahmed Khan Abbasi suspended two police officers, including a Station House Officer (SHO), for failing to arrest killer of Shoaib Iqbal Raja, nephew of former provincial law minister.

The police officers, who were closed to line by CPO, SHO/Inspector Police Station (PS) Saddar Bairooni Yar Muhammad and In-charge Chowky Ranyal Sub Inspector Arfad Ahmed.

Talking to media men yesterday, CPO Israr Ahmed Khan Abbasi said that the officers were placed under suspension because of their failure to arrest killer of Shoaib Iqbal Raja, who was gunned down by Ikhlaq Numberdar on polling day outside a polling station at Hayyal on December 5. He said that four other people were also injured during the firing incident.

Police booked Asad Numberdar, former candidate of PML-N for local government election in UC-86 Dhamial, his father Saleem and brother Ikhlaq in a murder case, he said. He said that five people were arrested in this connection who were on police remand.

Meanwhile, Chakri and Tarnool Interchange have been linked with CPO Office through CCTV cameras to monitor the movement of suspects, informed a source.
