Crime rate decreased in 2015: CCPO

LAHORE - Capital City Police Officer Muhammad Amin Wains yesterday said that the crime rate descended drastically in the provincial metropolis last year. The officer said that the police took multiple initiatives to improve the law and order situation in the city in 2015.
The city police chief said that they would focus on the improvement of police intelligence system in 2016. The field officers would be given special tasks to apprehend the most wanted criminals and proclaimed offenders.
Amin Wains stated this while addressing a meeting of the field officers at the Police Lines Qila Gujjar Singh yesterday. The meeting also reviewed in detail the crime and law and order situation reported in 2015 in Lahore. DIG (Operations) Dr Haider Ashraf, DIG (Investigations) Sultan Chaudhry and SSP Hassan Mushtaq Sukhera were also present on this occasion besides others.
The CCPO said that the anti-vehicle lifting staff of the Lahore police is being upgraded with modern technology to solve auto-lifting cases. The police chief also pledged different initiatives of the welfare of the policemen and their families. He also directed the officers to step up clamp down on the hardened criminals and militants.
