rawalpindi - Actress Mishi Khan yesterday faced charges of fraud in a Rawalpindi court. Mishi Khan pleaded not guilty to charges of taking Rs450,000 from a lady doctor for running advisement campaign of her clinic and beauty salon.

The court issued orders to the prosecution to summon witnesses and submit statements at the next hearing scheduled for March 15, 2016.

Police Station (PS) New Town officials accepted complaints against  Mishi Khan and the owner of an Islamabad-based Advertisement Company Shehzad Wasim.

Afshan Khan, a doctor, claims she has handed over the fee for an advertisement campaign for her clinic and a beauty salon located in Satellite Town.

Mishi Khan maintains her innocence, stating she has not taken money from the complainant. Defense lawyers asked the court to drop charges and acquit her. The prosecution contested the move to dismiss and the magistrate adjourned the hearing until witness statements are presented.

Mishi Khan stressed her innocence in a statement outside the court.
