LAHORE - The provincial police department yesterday decided to upgrade its website in a bid to share criminals’ data with the public.

According to a police spokeswoman, the decision was taken during a high-level meeting held under the chairmanship of Punjab inspector general of police Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera at the central police office yesterday. Senior officers including DIG Shahid Hanif, Agha Yousaf, AIG Waqar Abbasi, Waqas-ul-Hassan, Hussain Habib Imtiaz, and Humayun Bashir Tarar were also present in the meeting.

“The photographs of the criminals involved in robbery, dacoity, and theft cases will be uploaded at the website so that the people and other government departments can get authentic information about the persons, they intend to hire”, the spokesperson said. She further said that the project would be completed within a month.

Security guidelines would also be uploaded at the website for the female community, having complete information how they can contact the police and get the legal cover in case of any problem related to property share, domestic violence, and workplace harassment.
