Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal has said that the Pak Army’s Zarb-e-Azb operation has met a great success against terrorism.

Addressing a meeting of the councillors-elect, political figures, party workers, notables and traders, he said that the government was committed to weeding out terrorism from the country, as the whole nation stands united against terrorism and was ready to sacrifice with the armed forces even their lives while battling against terrorism.

Iqbal said that the Zarb-e-Azb operation was meeting with great success and achieving its targets. He said that it would continue till the elimination of last terrorist in the country. He said that there could be no space for militancy and terrorism in any democratic country. He said elimination of terrorism was the top priority of the government.

He said that the armed forces of Pakistan had full capabilities to defend the Motherland and to weed out terrorism. He added that the PML-N government was striving to establish peace in the country and making sincere efforts to overcome energy crisis. He said that 2018 will be the year of end to loadshedding of electricity. He said the government would launch mega projects, which would also pave the way for economic and political stability.

He said that there was a considerable decline in the loadshedding of electricity due to very positive, effective and hectic steps being taken by the government.

The meeting was held at the political office of PML-N candidate for the slot of chairman of Narowal Municipal Committee Syed Azharul Hassan Gillani in Narowal where MPAs Rana Manan Ahmed Khan and Sardar Ramaish Singh Arora were also present.
