National History Museum to open by March

LAHORE - Commissioner Abdullah Khan Sunbal Saturday said the National History Museum at Greater Iqbal Park would open by March.

He said the museum was a mega project of Greater Iqbal Park phase II, which would digitally present all aspects of Pakistan's history as per international standards. Reviewing the quality of technical work and design of under construction National History Museum, the commissioner said that various segments of the museum would highlight the scenarios of Pakistan Movement and its creation. DG OF PHA Shakeel Ahmad, Assistant Commissioner General Syed Munawar Bukhari and other senior officials were present on the occasion.

Roundtable

The 5th roundtable conference on information technology is being held under Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB)’s project TechHub Connect on Monday. Dr Umar Saif, founding vice chancellor of Information Technology University (ITU) will chair the moot at Software Technology Park, Lahore.

It is a bi-annual event conducted to provide a platform to the leaders from Government, Industry and Academia for a discourse on the issues pertinent to the IT industry of the country and to bring together the entire IT fraternity under one roof. This exercise is helpful in defining the roadmap for the progress of the IT industry along with that of the Punjab and Pakistan.

The focus of this moot will be on devising Special Economic Zones for the IT Industry of Pakistan. PITB and Pakistan Software Houses Association (P@SHA) shall work with Punjab Board of Investment & Trade (PBIT) for the materialization of the agenda. Another agenda item is discussion on the issues pertinent to the cyber security. PITB shall be announcing major steps that can be taken in the coming year to deal with the threats to cyberspace.
