Pak educational institutes yet to meet int’l standards: Dr Qadeer

islamabad - Degrees, gold medals and awards were conferred upon as many as 213 graduates in the 5th Shifa Tameer-e-Millat University convocation held on Saturday.

Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan was the chief guest on the occasion while Dr Mukhtar Ahmed, chairman HEC, participated as guest of honour.

The STMU conferred degrees to 102 Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), 6 Master of Science in Nursing, 37 Bachelors of Science in Nursing, 38 Bachelors of Science in Nursing Post-RN, 19 Associate of Science in Medical Technology and 11 MBA graduates. Vice Chancellor Dr Muhammad Iqbal in his address said that the STMU had started its journey in 2012 and today it had made a name.

Dr Khan said that the soil of Pakistan was ideal for dreamers who wished to find interpretation of their dreams with skills such as positive thinking and hard work. He stressed the graduates to support the vision aimed at placing Pakistan among top nations in terms of education and research. The renowned nuclear scientist said that Pakistan still had to go many a mile to meet international standards of education.

 

  For this purpose, we have to prepare our students so that they become able to face any challenge rising in any environment and anywhere in the world, he said.

“We all avow to struggle for making this country a welfare state where everyone is allowed to spend life on the basis of social justice and where everyone can live in peace and honour”, he concluded.–Our Staff Reporter

Dr Mukhtar Ahmed, chairman HEC, said that trustworthiness, honesty, integrity and loyalty were the only principles that would upgrade us as a nation.
