LAHORE - Six people, including four members of a family, were killed as a dilapidated house collapsed in Delhi Gate area Saturday.

Two passers-by were also trapped under debris, said rescuers and police.

The deceased include Ghulam Abbas (45), his wife Maryam Bibi (40), sons Zahid Haider (13) and Ali Gohar Haider (15) while Zebi Haider (10) was retrieved with multiple injuries from the debris of the three-storey building, police said.

The rescuer also recovered two dead bodies of passersby after hours’ efforts, identified as a local resident Mohammad Qadeer, (38) and his 5-year-old daughter Munahil. The residents told the police that Qadeer was taking his daughter to school when they had the tragedy. They said Rescue 1122 responded to call quickly but the rescue operation took time because of narrow streets of the area. City Division SP Ali Raza also told the media about the rescue efforts.
