Peshawar - Peshawar police recovered a young man kidnapped from Punjab province while 10 proclaimed offenders (POs) were also arrested during search and strike operations in the provincial capital on Thursday.
Peshawar police spokesman Muhammad Ilyas said that Abu Sufyan, kidnapped from Sahiwal district of Punjab, was recovered when police strengthened snap checking as well as monitoring at the entry and exit points of the city after receiving a report that the kidnapped man was being shifted via Peshawar to another undisclosed location.
The kidnappers, while realising the tightened security of the police, left the intoxicated Abu Sufyan at a petrol filling station in Chamkani area and fled the scene.
Meanwhile, the cops also arrested 10 proclaimed offenders (POs) wanted in various crimes by Peshawar police. The spokesman said that on the directives of SSP Operations Haroon-ur-Rasheed, the cops raided several areas and besides arresting the 10 wanted men, also nabbed 149 other suspects for further investigations. During the actions, the cops also recovered 22 pistols, six rifles, two shoguns and hundreds of bullets.
