The head of India's southern naval command Rear Admiral S.S. Jamwal was killed in firing range at a warship off the southern navy port of Kochi Wednesday, said official sources. The incident took place around 10.30 a.m. As per intitial reports, the Rear Admiral was at the small arms firing range of INS Dronacharya to oversee firing practice of trainees when he accidentally got hit. He died on the spot. The Navy has constituted an internal Board of Inquiry to investigate the death of the Rear Admiral.
