ISLAMABAD (APP/PPI) - A Pakistani registered dhow Al Anwari, used for cargo purposes, was reported sunk 45NM North of Caluula off North Somali Coast the other day (Monday). According to a press release issued by Pakistan Navy Tuesday, USS ELROD operating in close vicinity recovered the 18 survivors and requested Pak Navy through CMF/PN CCTF-150 for necessary assistance. PNS BABUR deployed on counter piracy operation was immediately tasked to render necessary help to the survivors and bring them home safely. Presently, the personnel are being recovered onboard PNS BABUR and provided with medical care, a PN release said Tuesday.
