LAHORE - Justice Umar Ata Bandiyal of the Lahore High court on Tuesday issued notices for July 21 to Managing Director (MD) Pepco and Chairman Nepra on a petition challenging 7.6 per cent increase in electricity tariff. The court was hearing a petition filed by Imtiaz Rasheed Qureshi against hike in the electricity rates. The petitioner contended 7.6 per cent increase in tariff was unjust on the part of Pepco. He said it was dishonesty of Pepco that electricity rates were increased after every now and then despite the fact that masses were already paying inflated bills.
