LAHORE - At least 15 people of Sui Northern Gas Task Force team sustained severe injuries when the employees of a factory located in Sheikhupura opened fire on the team as it raided to check the illegal gas supply on Tuesday evening. The condition of three people is stated critical till filing of this report. Imtiaz Mahmood, a victim, said a team comprising 15 members raided Buraaq Factory, being patronised by a local MPA at 5:00 pm. Our team raided the factory on the tip off to disconnect bypass gas supply to the factory but the administration refused the team entry into the premises of factory, he added. The victims include: Moazam Ali Hamdani, Major Asjad, Khaid Paul, Zulfiqar Sidique, Farhan, Shafiq, Usman, Wase-em, Nasir, Basheer Ahmad, Allah Yar, Ashraf and Aslam. The workers on the alleged directions of the owner Pir Ashraf first opened fire on the team and severely beat the team members. Police investigators said the victims were rushed to the Services Hospital where the condition of three people was critical. CBA president Zulfiqar Afghani announced to observe strike from Wednesday. No case was registered till filing of this report.
