Our Staff reporter CHUNIAN - District and Sessions Judge (DSJ) Hamayun Imtiaz ordered the DPO to take stern action against SI Niamat Ali, ASI Shoukat Farzand and duty officer for showing false recovery of a 30 bore pistol and subsequent registration of a cooked up against Niaz Ahmad, a resident of Gajjan Singh Wala, a suburban village of Chunian The DSJ issued the orders following the inquiry report submitted by Civil Judge Ch Sarfraz Ali after conducting an in-depth investigation into the matter. In the report Civil Judge Ch Sarfraz Ali reported that the police never had recovered any pistol from the accused and the case registered against the victim was fake. Earlier, the DSJ tasked the Civil Judge with conducting a probe into the case. The District and Sessions Judge also ordered the Kasur DPO to take notice of the issue and stern legal and departmental action against the police officers. Meanwhile, on the request of Petitioners Counsel Shahid Aziz, the court also ordered the DPO to further investigate as to why a false case was registered against an innocent person and why the police arrested him and sent him to the jail.
