ROME (AFP) - Silvio Berlusconi savoured a legal victory on Wednesday when Italy's highest court agreed to consider a motion filed by the prime minister's party which could lead to the blocking of his sex trial. The Constitutional Court announced it would consider a motion filed by the People of Freedom party which argued the case should be held before a special magistrates tribunal which can only be set up with parliamentary approval. If the Constitutional Court rules that the "Rubygate" trial should not be heard by the Milan court which currently has jurisdiction, experts predict the case will then effectively collapse given Berlusconi's majority in parliament.
