Chinese universities are among the best in the region: Masood Khan

The Ambassador of Pakistan to China, Masood Khan said that Chinese universities imparting medical studies to an increasing number of overseas students are among the best in the region. According to a press release, Ambassador Masood Khan said Chinese universities are among the best in the region during his speech as Chief Guest at the Graduation Ceremony of the Xinjiang Medical University in Urumqi. The Ambassador added a record number of Pakistan students have graduated from Xinjiang Medical University which in itself speaks volumes of the quality education being given at this prestigious institution. He expressed hope that with more and more Chinese universities offering the courses in English, the number of Pakistan students seeking higher education in China would increase manifold in the coming years. Xinjiang Medical University is one as of the best universities in Xinjiang and is among the seven universities recognized by the PMDC. The university is also celebrating the 10th anniversary of the launch of international education at the campus. Ambassador Masood Khan complimented the leadership and faculty of the University for ensuring high standards of academic excellence and providing state of the art facilities to the students. He thanked them for looking after the students so well. He urged on the graduating students to make full use of the training received at the university and serve the mankind. Masood Khan termed the graduating students as 'Ambassadors of Pakistan-China Friendship and impressed upon them to strengthen the bonds which they have established with their Chinese friends during their stay at the university. He said because of the evergreen and time tested friendship between our two countries, the best educational environment is available for Pakistan students in China. Speaking to the graduating students, Masood Khan said the government is making all efforts to increase the number of students in China to 10,000. At the same time, he said, youth exchanges comprising young generation from both sides are being promoted which is helping in further cementing the already strong bonds of friendship. Currently, close to 600 overseas students from 21 countries are studying at the Xinjiang Medical University out of which more than 480 are from Pakistan. Out of the 118 students who graduated, 108 were from Pakistan. Senior leaders from the university, prominent academicians and parents of the graduating students attended the ceremony.
