Farmers flay fertilisers scarcity

HAFIZABAD -Kissan Board staged a protest against artificial shortage of urea fertilizers and undue profits from the farmers. The growers of the district urged the district administration to ensure the availability of urea at fixed price. Kissan Board Rice Committee General President Amanullah Chattha said that urea was being sold in black market. He said that government fixed its price at Rs1,250 per bag but was being sold by some black-marketeer at Rs1,600 per bag. He appealed to the authorities concerned to take strict action against black-marketeers for increasing the prices arbitrarily and unilaterally. DBA boycott courts against dacoity: The lawyers boycotted the courts to protest against the broad daylight dacoity in the residence of former DBA General Secretary Ch. Aman Ullah Sandhu on Monday in which the dacoits had snatched away foreign and Pak-currency and gold ornaments from UK-returned guests and inmates of the house, worth Rs1,1 million.
