OUR STAFF REPORTER OKARA - Four suspects, who allegedly released a taxi driver after getting Rs0.4 million ransom, were arrested on Wednesday from Dera Ghazi Khan. Sources said that some outlaws in the disguise of passengers got the taxi of Mohammad Saleem, a resident of 49/2.L, on rent for DG Khan. Afterwards, they sold him for Rs100,000. The buyers confined him in village Yaroo. However, the Okara DPO constituted a special team for the arrest of the criminals and recovery of the taxi driver. The drivers brother informed the police that the kidnappers have demanded a ransom of Rs3 million. The sub-inspector of the raiding party posed as friend of Mohammad Saleems brother and went to the village. After negotiation with the accused and payment of the ransom money, they got him released. After his release, Sub-Inspector Mohammad Sarwar chalked out a plan to arrest the accused. Having got permission from the DPO, SHO Javeed Khan along with police contingent arrested the 4 accused in a raid. The accused have been identified as Mohammad Sajid, Mohammad Boota, Noor Mohammad and Akbar. COMPLAINANT DIES: A person who came to the DPO office died of heart attack. Shamshad Ali, a resident of Mitta Bhatti, was to submit an application for redressal of his grievances. The dead body was transferred to the DHQ Hospital. Later, his heirs took the body to their native village.
