PTI stages protest against Peshawar admin

PESHAWAR Activists of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), district Peshawar, Wednesday staged a protest demonstration against the district administration, as it allegedly warned them to erase PTIs wall chalking and remove party flags from their houses. A large number of PTI activists gathered at the main road in front of Yakatoot Police Station and blocked the road for a while to record their protest. Later, the police resented to their protest and resorted to baton charge, due to which several persons were injured. Police also arrested scores of the party workers. PTI district Peshawar Organiser Zafrullah Khattak and Secretary Information Zahid Hussain Mohmand said PTI workers were holding party flags and did wall chalking to express support for the PTI Chairman Imran Khan on their houses in Yakatoot area, adding that the ANPs senior minister Bashir Bilour was unhappy over it. They said the district administration through a special magistrate, on the directives of ANP government, warned PTI workers to remove party flags and erase wall chalking from their houses upon which they resisted. They also alleged that some armed persons of Bashir Bilour also tried to erase wall chalking upon which the PTI activists started protest and gathered in front of Yakatoot Police Station. Police without knowing the actual position resorted to baton charge on peaceful protestors, they stated. The protestors then led by PTI provincial general secretary Shah Farman, and other leaders rushed the injured protestors towards Peshawar press club to bring the barbarism of the administration infront of media. The infuriated protestors blocked main Sher Shah Soori road for all kind of traffic and chanted full-throated slogans against the government and police barbarism. Condemning the police barbarism upon peaceful protestors, PTI Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chapter president Asad Qaisar said that Imran Khan is a venerated personality and could not remove from the hearts of the masses. He added that with these shameful tactics the coward administration on the directives of the government could not clinch the democratic right from the masses. Bilour want to turned the constituency as 'no go area for the rest of the political parties, he blamed. He demanded to lodge an FIR against the stated magistrate and SHO Yakatoot Police Station, and threatened to start a province wide protest demonstration against the administration, and in case of any untoward situation all the responsibilities would be on the government.
