MIRPUR (AJK) - AJK Secretary Information Khawaja Muhammad Salim Bismil said that under the spirit to make AJK Press Information Department a vibrant institution, an integrated plan was being evolved to promote and strengthen the relationship between the AJK government and the media in order to ensure the performance of the media in most excellent manner harmonious to the need of the modern age. The proposed plan involve the inter-district, inter-provincial and intra-Kashmir study trips of the AJK journalists to strengthen and improve their professional skills and potential to enable them to serve the nation and the country through the best of their professional activities and high intellect and pen, Bismil said this while addressing journalists, belonging to the national print and electronic media as well as the regional press at the Kashmir Press Club here the other night. He was accompanied by Divisional Director PID (Information) Mirpur Division Raja Azher Iqbal, Information Officer Javed Mallick, Muhammad Sagheer and other officials of the State Information Department.The visit of the AJK Secretary Information to the local press club was primarily aimed to in quire about the problems of the local journalists in performance of their professional duties. Press Club President Syed Abid Hussain Shah, Secretary General Khalid Chaudhry, Chief organiser AJKUJ and Senior Journalists Altaf Hamid Rao, Hafiz Muhammad Maqsood, ex President AJK UJ, ex Secretary General Sohrab Ahmed Khan, Raja Habib Ullah, President AJK CUJ Muhammad Ramzan Chughtai and others highlighted the problems being faced by the local media men. Secretary Information said that an integrated plan was being prepared by the state government for managing the inter-provincial study tours of the journalists from Azad Jammu Kashmir for various parts of the country as well as within the state of Jammu & Kashmir in order to broaden their (journalists) vision and to make them acquainted of the latest know how about the speedy development and progress in various walks of life. Besides, the government is also seriously contemplating to organize the professional training workshops for working journalists all over AJK in order to raise the professional knowledge and to explore potentials of the newsmen for performing their duties, he added.
