MULTAN -Federal Minister for National Food Security Malik Sikandar Hayat Khan Bosan has said that the incumbent government is determined to bring a positive change in the lives of masses as all our resources are being utilised to uproot corruption and making all projects transparent.Addressing a high level meeting here at Circuit House, he added that the federal and Punjab governments offered subsidy worth billions on atta and other daily use items for the month of Ramazan and this effort would mitigate problems being faced by the poor. He asked the elected representatives to visit their constituencies and point out any corruption or malpractice. He assured the participants of the meeting that a strict action would be taken on the complaint of corruption.Briefing the meeting, DCO Syed Gulzar Hussain Shah said that the Punjab Government had introduced a new idea to facilitate the public as Public Facilitation Centres were  being set up at tehsil level. “The citizens can get their complaints addressed regarding Nadra, gas, Wapda, revenue and other departments under one roof at these centres,” he further disclosed. He added that the spots for establishing these centres in Multan district had been selected.Referring to the computerisation of record, he said that the work on this project was underway and the record of 534 villages had so far been computerised while the remaining 147 villages would also be computerised till July 15. He told the meeting that 122 power and 15 gas  theft cases were unearthed during last week’s drive and cases were registered against them. He disclosed that a new campaign would be launched from next week against land grabbers and water thieves.ELECTRICITY FROM INDIA OPPOSED: Sindh Taas Water Council Chairman Zahoorul Hassan Dahar has said that any agreement to purchase electricity from India will be tantamount to committing a national suicide.Talking to the journalists here on Saturday, he urged the government to devise a comprehensive strategy to make up power shortage and protect country’s rivers. He lamented that Pakistani leaders showed tilt towards India to appease USA, and India was being declared Most Favoured Nation for the sake of dollars. He said that Indian prime minister expressed his agreement to sell electricity to Pakistan. “It will prove fatal for Pakistan. It is tantamount to acknowledging Indian occupation of our rivers and their tributaries as legal,” he warned. He claimed that Pakistani rulers wanted to buy electricity from Indian for personal gains.
