Islamabad: As per Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, 45% Pakistanis believe that the army should only intervene in issues that concern it; 42% believe that it should also intervene in non-army issues.

A nationally representative sample of adult men and women, from across the four provinces was asked, “Some people think that the army should only intervene in those issues that concern the army, while others believe that they should help in other areas as well. What is your opinion about this?” In response to this question, 45% respondents said that it should be limited to army issues only, while 42% said that it should intervene in non-army issues as well and 13% respondent didn’t respond.

The study was released by Gilani Research Foundation and carried out by Gallup Pakistan. The recent survey was carried out among a sample of 1892 men and women in rural and urban areas, of all four provinces of the country, during May 18 – May 25, 2015.
