LAHORE - The Excise and Taxation department Monday claimed that it achieved revenue recovery target successfully during the year 2014-15, an Excise and Taxation Officer (ETO) said.

He said that detection work was also lauded by the minister Excise and Taxation. The Excise branch recovered 15kg heroin, 10kg charas, 1.5kg opium, spurious liquor more than 1,000 liters and toxic injections ion huge quantity. ETO Latif Anjum said that awareness campaign was also run actively throughout the year wherein walks, seminars and important exhibitions were held. Despite meager resources raids were conducted in different parts of the city to curb narcotics and nab accused, said the ETO. He said that on the direction of high-ups of the Excise department a campaign was also launched for the rehabilitation of addicts in the city.

As per campaign public sector hospital were taken on board and beds were specified there for such addicts. Some other programs were started in coordination of ANF for public awareness against narcotics.
