NAB submits list of corruption cases to apex court

ISLAMABAD- Officials of the National Accountability Bureau today submitted a report containing details of 150 mega corruption cases before the Supreme Court.

Bench headed by Justice Jawwad S. Khawaja was hearing a case filed by Manzoor Ahmed Ghauri against NAB chairman. The case was initiated earlier this year and pertains to examination of the NAB.

The list includes cases against high profile figures, including Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and top bureaucrats.

Also, a case against Sharif family questions the construction of a road from Raiwind to Sharif family House worth Rs126 million.

The document also shows 50 cases involving misuse of powers and land scams. Also, a scam worth Rs700m against Ghazi Akhtar is being inquired by the NAB.

Investigations are also in process against former president Asif Ali Zardari for corruption of US$22 billion.
